Jardin des délices (Garden of Delights )

The sensory endings of our bodies, tangled like nerve trees, evoke strange flowers. Precious instruments in our exploration of the world, they also offer a palette of sensory delights. Like Jérôme Bosch's enigmatic triptych, they can plunge us into an enchanted garden or lead us into the disturbing abyss of our desires.

The tracing paper, shaped, cracked and twisted by laborious hands, takes on the delicate appearance of porcelain. Its semi-translucent surface reveals the cracks and streaks characteristic of living tissue, creating a captivating play of light.

Inspired by the beauty of poppies, orchids, irises, pansies and patchouli, these shapes are transformed into strange creatures. Sometimes a curious eye emerges from petal-eyelids, eager for enlightenment, sometimes an orchid reveals, at the heart of its corolla, a hand vibrating with the most intense sensations.

Thus, these tracing paper works become not only metaphors for our sensory body, but also windows onto our most intimate feelings. They remind us of the power of sensations, capable of awakening buried memories and desires.
